Everything You Need to Know About Gaskets

Gaskets! What are they and what do you do when they need replacing?

Gaskets are the rubber-band looking thing inside your blade. They are hard to spot unless you know what you’re looking for. This is the gasket:

Often people think that to properly clean their blade, they need to remove the gasket. Stop right there, the gasket should NEVER be removed from the blade. This loosens the gasket and makes it less effective at doing its job.

What do gaskets do?

The gasket ensures a tight seal on your blade. If this loosens, then you’ll have a leaky mess on your hands when you use your NutriBullet.

What is the best way to clean your blade and gasket?

Wash your blades by hand with warm, soapy water and a dish brush to loosen any stuck-on debris. If you want a deeper clean, rinse the blade with a 10% dilute vinegar and water solution or lemon juice. We recommend hand washing over dishwashing as the heat from some dishwashers may damage the gaskets and cause them to loosen and fall out.

How often do blades need replacing?

To keep your NutriBullet operating in tip-top condition, we recommend replacing your blades every 6 months.

Can I buy just a gasket?

Gaskets are not sold individually. Each blade comes with a deep-seated gasket to ensure that it does not fall out. We do not sell replacement gaskets because gaskets are difficult to properly install and get stretched or damaged in the process. If you do find NutriBullet gaskets for sale, do not buy them. They are counterfeit and not recommended for use with your NutriBullet. Learn more about counterfeit items here.

What should I do if my gasket loosens?

If your gasket loosens or falls out at any point, purchase a new Extractor Blade for your NutriBullet. It is recommended that you change out blades at least every 6 months if you use the NutriBullet regularly.
